I know a Beard Papa's will be moving in around the perimeter, and there will be two large restaurants at Jack Poole Plaza. I would imagine that most of the retail space would be occupied by restaurants, and perhaps some offices, but I don't see retailers surviving there.

The deal for the restaurant pad is coming along and should be firmed up soon, but nothing to share yet. Along the east will be Beard Papa's, Salad Loop, Bellagio Cafe, El Caravan Mediterranean Grill and Mahony and Son's Public House (same owners as the Pub out at UBC).

I believe a lot of the space along the water will be geared towards the Marina and Float Plane terminal once completed after the Olympics.

Here’s some old shipping containers turned into "urban art". If you stand underneath the top one, you will see a film being played…

^I have a photo of that same installation from Feb 19 of last year when it was outside the VPL where that crazy chair/screen contraption has been setup.

I was surprised to see it in Coal Harbour a few days ago.

Ya, it sticks out by the Shaw tower. The majority of people don’t know what to make of it and just walk past.
I could think of better locations for it … maybe Gastown.

The flame at Jack Pool square.
They will be taking down the fence so people can get closer to it.

^ Nice pic - yours?

Great day for Team Canada! Hopefully someone get some pics of the gold rings.

As for the cauldron, I haven't seen a good overhead shot yet, but it looks like there is a huge amount of plaza space remaining to the north of cauldron. At the Canada Day fireworks, when the plaza was as busy as it will probably ever get, half of it was pretty empty. When there was nothing going on there, the plaza felt way too big and empty to me. I think this will be nice legacy and it won't get in the way too much.

My photos, Feb 14:
