Work has started on the microbrewery and cafe that is going in the old east-end firehall. Apparently it's going to be called "The Firehall".

Pretty creative.
More local brew is most welcome though.

See that cardboard box over there? Eat it. Now you've tried it.

Ron.

Basically. It's been a while since I've had it but I don't remember it being very good.

Little Caesars is what it is. I had it a few times now and enjoyed it. It's not Boston Pizza, but it's not Boston Pizza prices either. While I respect the opinions, I think the posted reviews are a bit harsh.

Now see, I prefer Little Caesars over Boston Pizza.

Article on Little Caesars:
http://www.thetelegram.com/business/...hlands-202458/

Quote:
Jeff Horner, who made the franchise’s debut in the province when he opened on White Rose Drive in east end St. John’s last June, is set to launch his second location in Southlands this summer.

Horner says if things continue to go well, the next destination is likely Paradise, and eventually he’d like to explore the possibility of a drive-thru.

The 5th ticket shut down as of Saturday night.
Said a couple of months ago I heard they were closing.
I guess the old story is true -- where there's smoke, there's fire !

What a shock to the system for this guy. Loses his Pannizzi locations and now loses The 5th Ticket. Talk about a bad year !

I wonder how much of his lottery winnings he has burnt through. Hopefully not all of it.

Pannizza was a good concept but just a horrible product and an overzealous expansion.

I have no idea what the deal is with this place, but it was all over Facebook on Saturday, that Saturday night would be their Final night.
Don't know why they would be hiring cooks, if Saturday was their last night.

To me, if I was an employee of this place, and it was indeed still open -- I might want to check my options and start looking for something else -- he doesn't exactly have the greatest track record to fall back on.
