Well that's very flattering. Now if only we had trams and the streets weren't empty on an early Sunday morning, we'd be all set.

One thing to note: you can't actually see any wooden buildings in that photo. Those buildings in the background are stone ones along Duckworth Street. They just have an industrial appearance from behind. This is that block from the front:

Unfortunately, because of the hills and the fact all our streets have buildings of near-equal height on both sides, most of what you see looking up at St. John's from sea/street level is the backside of buildings.

We are still months away from that.

Yeah, Penticton's great. We used to take the boat down there from Kelowna, and go drinking at this crazy strip club called Slack Alice's.

A great pair of photos. This seems to capture the feel of the new library in Halifax (I haven't actually seen it in person, but a lot of photos make it look a bit flat) and the mix of architecture around that area:

Unfortunately, or fortunately as some say, it burned down a couple of years ago.

Wow Penticton looks like it's part of California, not Canada.

Alot of the Okanagan is like that, you never been? It basically is the California of Canada. Love Penticton and the Okanagan. There every summer pretty much, my ex is from there, we get along still (have a son together). Go on road trips.

Few of my pics from last summer.

Okanagan beach.

Okanagan Lake.

Beach late evening.

From way up on the hill overlooking Penticton. Friends house. Watching the Snow Birds, were there for Peach Fest.

Sandcastles on Skaha beach.

My fav ice cream truck! They are from Narmata but come all the way to Calgary and elsewhere for festivals etc.

I started your pictures from the bottom and thought they were recent. I was foaming at the mouth by the last one.

That's why they call it "Kelownafornia" Why, when I was but a wee twink, I made a parody song to Katy Perry's "California Girls" called "Kelownafornia Boys" when I used to live there! I was so lame.

there is a tax called sunshine tax, people who work in California and Okanagan region have to pay that tax.

Yeah I lived in and spent lots of time all over southern BC. The smaller cities there are amazing, I spent a fair amount of time in cities like Nelson, Penticton, Castlegar, Trail and Chilliwack (one could say I lived in Chilliwack for about a month). The cities I lived in were Kelowna, (Chilliwack), Burnaby, and New Westminster. I'm glad I could surprise you! British Columbia is an amazing place, there's still so much I haven't seen. Particularly, the west coast of the island!
