I think in that photo you can see the columns as round and smaller...

Thanks.
I didn't actually see the 2 round columns at first until you pointed them out.
I thought they were in the wall further back.
Anyways, the retail should block them from view.

That must be the elevator core for Tower 1.

When completed, are the first two towers going to be BC's second tallest?

the progress seems rapid these days.

Today I noticed they were dismantling some fencing, sidewalk scaffolding and it looked like some of the first floor jacks were coming down.

Does anyone know about this building method and when it started being used? It seems like it's only been the last few years that I've seen buildings go up using jackstands.

Here's a couple from the skytrain stairs.

It's pretty crazy crazy, considering how tall Trump is.

Cool.
Looks like the off-angle floor of one of the retail cubes.

Yeah, Brentwood is going to look pretty impressive as you ride skytrain towards it and as you drive westbound on the #1.

Would not be surprised if some out-of-towners confuse it for downtown Van by that point (this has already happened with Metrotown from time to time).

So I was looking at the "anchor" site in the leasing brochure and noticed that it has a special circular driveway marked
"Drop off for anchor" next to a landscaped area on the lowest anchor level.

That says "valet parking" to me.
Saks Fifth Ave. has valet parking.
Do any Nordstrom stores have valet parking?

Note that the lowest level (33,052 sq ft) is NOT contiguous with the upper 2 levels.
There are however, escalators and an elevator from the drop-off to the lower level of the anchor (and an atrium to the upper anchor level).

This seems perfectly suited for a Saks Fifth Ave. (or Nordstrom) on the upper levels
and a Saks Off Fifth (or Nordstrom Rack) on the lowest level.

I would think that the downtown Nordstrom is too close for another store (ditto for Holt Renfrew).

Thanks for the pics, mcminsen and nickbeaulieu!

I go by here often so I sometimes skip this page. But I really shouldn't because there's tons you don't really notice from the Skytrain.
