I see that Winnipeg is on Google Streetview now... much of the shots taken during early spring, streets are so filthy just after the melt . Also looks like they shot some other streets later in the spring - such as around Portage & Main - as leaves can be seen on the trees.

This gave me a chuckle: plop the 'Google guy' down in the Norwood West area and there is still snow all over the place... then drop him just across the river on Corydon and it's a beautiful summer day.

The city just spent nearly 6 months rebuilding a block and a half of my parents' residential street and the Streetview, from the slushy period just before the work started, certainly reminds me why.

They have a beautiful shot of my old house on Pritchard ave. just east of salter. Its wonderful to see that the north end has been repairing itself... Not! One day that neighbourhood will change for the better. (obviously not from any sort of government initiation anyways.)

See the biggest thing that gets me is the fact that the north end aesthetically has great potential as a neighbourhood. It has a very large beautiful congestion of elm trees along almost every road. The classic layout of the streets is prevalent all the way from Dufferin to Inkster. And the houses could have potential to be almost as important as some in cresentwood/ river heights/ tuxedo area. Unfortunately through lack of investments, and government input, homeowners have let the houses decay to their current almost sickening point. Ahh like I said though one day it will change. I believe when Centreport comes it will bring some long needed resources into the neighbourhood and we will see a very drastic revitalization in the north.

1ajs, did you used to go to Isaac Newton? A lot of my friends went there! Some of course went to the Vocational School R.B high, but I actually took the bus to Andrew Mynarski. Ahh, the memories lol

I actually went to Andrew school in '03 for one year before my mom moved us to southern Ontario. I (odd as it is) miss that area like crazy, nothing quite says home to me like the north end. I go back and take walks down there when I visit my dad. I might have known your friend as I knew many of the people in the higher grades. I found Andrew to have a very close group of people just because it was so small.
