Nice future render....

Pics by me today:

Note the big block of concrete at the top of the east side - not sure what that's for.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

On this shot you can see the yellow bars that support the curtain wall panels as they hoist them into place. I guess that's because they don't "rest" on the slab, so they need the cables to hold them while they are secured. So we can see 3 of the yellow bars in the shot. On the east side facing the Four Seasons, the blue spandrel section is window wall not curtain wall and the panels are supported on the edge of the slab when they are installed, so no yellow bar.

Great update OD. It's too bad the NE corner isn't glazed the same way as the SW corner. Also, funny how there are two panes of coloured glass in the curtain wall on the North side... My photo today.

That is a bit strange - but they seem to be the right size for the location (i.e. a narrow operable window is included). Could be a reflection causing the variance in appearance (as 3 floors down the glass seems to be a similar colour but without the defined edges)

BTW - I'm not looking forward to the east side when the blue spandrel stops for a series of balconies.

See the top in DLeung's pic here:
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2126/...18dd0e4a_b.jpg

This is bizarre - but check the model pic - there's a clear patch on the north side of the model that's in the same place as your coloured panels above - i.e. 12 floors above the partywall with the Met Hotel.

nice pics od.

I'm just wondering how those "twenty to thirty story raindrops" lighting effects are going to manifest themselves.

I hope that's still in the plans.

Thanks.
For some reason I'm thinking that they'll just be down the "gutters" on the north and south sides - hopfully I'm wrong, but I really don't see where they could be installed anywhere else on the curtain wall.

Pics by me today (11:00 am or so) - a bit more to the west so there's a reflection of the Hotel Vancouver in there:

Awning glass (flavour of the moment (frosted glass) matches the Michael Kors down the block):

Nice reflection, officedweller. There's nothing like a good refleciton to make a building more attractive.

She looks topped to me, although the roof feature looks like it will add the equivalent of another four stories or so, so I think that's the thing that will make this building really stick out in the skyline both in terms of height and architecture.

Came across this Feb 8th pic in the SCC Hotel Georgia thread - the buildings in the foreground are across from the YWCA on Hornby and I think they are ripe for redevelopment (and the corresponding building across the back alley on Howe are similarly small scale).

Great place for some really imaginative, dense, striking redeveloping ... providing they don't jab into the Sacred Cow. (viewcones). ... {you never can be too sure these days...}

why would you wanna see those redeveloped? its not like they would be replaced with office towers - last thing we need is what little office buildings knocked down for more condos - there isn't that much need for offices that i have heard of
