LOL, might have been okay if all of the construction cranes were in place. At least Crane-geeks like SLC Projects would have loved it.

I just got an update on the HP tower.

Slated to start construction in June (of this year even). Completion in 22-24 months. Height will be just shy of 400ft.

So hopefully it pulls through and actually starts in June.

Wouldn't that make it taller than the Beneficial Life tower, soon to be the Key Bank tower?
I sure hope so!

Makid, Amongst your info.,have you ever heard of skilled labor shortages and building material fabrication has part of the problems holding up the HP Tower?

I think it will. Also, I am not sure but I think that it will completely block the view of the One Utah Center tower from I-15. Of course, we may just see the top of the pyramid though.

It will be nice if it starts in June. I can't wait to see it rise.

I haven't heard anything about that. Only that they are expecting to start construction this June. I am thinking that if they are expecting to start construction within the next 75 days, they should have all the labor and material orders taken care of or in final negotiations.

What shy of 400 feet? Are they adding floors to it?

That's great news if it really will start in June instead of July. Thanks for the update.

This is now a classic photo of South Temple since the Inn at Temple square is gone as well as the Mall. This photo was taken about a year and half ago since there's a crane on top of the Zions Bank Tower back when the Tower was getting it's new skin.

You should still be able to see almost half of the One Utah building if you were to look directly east from I-15; and if veiwed from the north-west, you should be able to see every part of the buidling that you can see today. The HP tower is further down Main Street because of the Hotel Monaco, which occupies the corner lot. Also, If the building ends up being just shy of 400 ft. (whatever that really means), than it would likely be taller than the pyramid.

I think once this project starts... on second thought, no, once they have poured the foundation and steel starts to rise, I have so little faith in this project that I won't believe it until it is actually above ground (btw, does anyone know if this building will be steel or reinforced concrete?) I'm going to the panache wine bar and tipping a glass to this project while I watch it rise!

It will be sooo good to see, but as I said, not until it's actually rising, I won't believe it before then.

Oh and then I'll write a post that has the little smilie bowing down and several bananas, but not until then.

If this is true about the HP Tower being just shy of 400 feet. It will be the 4th Tallest building in Salt Lake. ( That's if CCC Tower 2 gets build )

Here's a list of tallest buildings on Emporis. If True 222 South Main will go between CCC Tower 2 and Beneficial Life Building ( Soon to be Key Bank Tower )

No, because the thread is filled with a lot of useless construction news most on a skyscraper forum couldn't care less about.
