The thin, flat shape looks different from every direction. It's an iconic structure that will help to define Salt Lake, but at the same time it's very "safe". City leaders really hate taking chances. They seem to prefer nice, safe, practical boxes. Boxes maximize interior space you know. I'm in favor of tall buildings in general, but I'm glad this isn't any taller. It's already almost too big. On the subject of height restrictions, it seems like they discourage development. What purpose do height restrictions serve in a practical sense, not somebody's idea of balance? Tall buildings increase traffic, but you have traffic anyway. Do other cities have height restrictions?
When it comes to our “safe” architecture, that has more to do with our cheap, and unambitious developers rather than city leaders. Granted, our leaders should push for more out of the box stuff.

The CCH is a behemoth in all the wrong ways. Talk about “blocking views”.

The next four are:

1.) Sundial - Converting project to residential?
2.) West Quarter - Unknown?
3.) Regent Hotel - Should be built after Astra is completed.
4.) Cascade - Unknown? Demand is there. Church does nothing. Maybe
church doesn't want to build due to the pending "Big One?"

What other information can we add, guys?

I have no other information, but that west quarter phase 2 is going to be amazing and really extend downtown

Interesting article about the possibility of the Bees moving out of SLC.

That article talks about MLB coming to the daybreak suburbs. It doesn't say anything about the Bees moving there

I want MLB in utah, but daybreak? Yeesh.

It does mention mlb in daybreak. Also first sentence mentions bees moving to suburbs as well

Yeah, that first line wasn't clear to me at all. I assumed it meant the Bees were planning on moving out the MARKET, not just to the burbs.

Will bee (see what I did there???) interesting to see what happens.

Is confusing. The third paragraph mentions the burbs as a possible location

Is this a final design? I like the height and ground level engagement. The rest is pretty rectangular and very “safe”. Would like to see some more creativity in the designs in SLC that I see in other cities

So I found some more new renderings of Soren (South West Temple) and Worthington. These are likely representative of the final designs for both.

Worthington

I think it's a great design. The materials look nicer than other projects going up around town. I like how each column of windows has an angled edge or step on its frame before the next. Wouldn't look out of place in NYC, IMO.

Fair enough. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me I’d like to see some step backs. But that’s my preference. Maybe there are and we’re not seeing it from this angle in the rendering. The materials could be nice. The rendering doesn’t show enough for us to know what the wall materials will be. The worthington looks pretty slick

An MLB team finally coming to Utah and it’ll be going to Daybreak? I would expect nothing more, nothing less.

To quote the great filmmaker George Lucas:

“It’s like poetry, sort of. They rhyme. The next stanza rhymes with the last.”

Considering the bland, minimalist stuff going up in Manhattan in recent years, this is a fair assessment.

I still think the odds of another professional team in Utah in the next decade or two are incredibly slim.

There are plenty of other bigger markets (that are also fast growing) that are ahead of Utah. IMO.

Salt Lake isn't getting a MLB team for at least a decade - maybe even longer.

But putting it in the suburbs would be a disaster. Especially Daybreak, which I doubt would have the infrastructure to support a stadium that size.
