michaelmaestro,

Beautiful job on the photos! And to be chosen by Nall is the cherry on the sundae, eh?.

Was Nall the art consultant for the building? He's an amazing artist, and I really admire him for continuing to come back to his home state and lend his expertise and his name to some really admirable projects.

Mr. Mastro, I really enjoy your photographs. You're probably my favorite Mobile photographer. I saw a lot of your work in the Battle House (in the 7th floor lounge and the pre-function areas between the hotel and the tower) and I was really impressed and happy that all the artwork that hangs in the hotel and tower is so Mobile. How did you get that first shot in the night time series in the crown? Looks dangerous. Also, how did you get permission? It's my goal to go up there before I die. Congratulations and thanks for sharing those photos!

When is Mobile gonna stop talking and start building all of these purposed projects. We take longer to do shit stuff in Mobile than anywere I've ever been in my life. We need to stop talking and start doing! What's going on with: the highrise condos, the hotels, the bridge, the court house, the parks, and all this other stuff i've heard about. I think Mobile county has the potential to get up a population of 800,000 to 1,000,000 in the next 10 years if we would start doing and not just talking!!!

well....I don't know about 800,000 to 1,000,000--I wish. I think maybe tops 550,000 to 600,000 in 10 years. But I understand your frustration. Just so happens that those developers ideas are great, but they don't have a lot of financing to back it up. Maybe if enough attention is brought to Mobile, more national and international firms will take notice. But that takes a little time and Mobile is certainly on its way.

OH....and the Hampton inn is having work done on its foundation and their are a lot of condo projects being worked on right now. Oh and the gayfers building is having some kind of contruction being done on it right now.

guys I was watching a documentary the other day on the Hawaii Ferry being built and immediately recognized it was being constructed in Mobile by the RSA Battlehouse tower looming in the background. Did any of you catch this on cable? I think it was the Discovery Channel.

PS: the tower looked great!

Yeah... I got it on my TiVo. It was a cool documentary and featured the skyline throughout a good bit of it. The RSA Tower looks great from the water.

The ferry is awesome. But the publicity has mostly been negative due to the contoversy in Hawaii. I really think that water transportation is a highly efficient, economically favorable form of public transportation that is mostly underutilized in the U.S.

I just finished watching it on National Geographic. Very cool documentary. I never imagined that ship could reach 50 mph.
