I plan on posting the first 2022 update at the end of the month. By then it looks like 321 West and 415 Colorado will go green. With 6&G U/C and Modern Austin already having a groundbreaking set for 03/21, it means we'll have four towers between 640' and 875' underway by the end of Q1. Plus 98 RR and now the Republic look good. That would be six towers between 640' and 1,022' going up all at the same time.

I'll be so happy to see that scar of a parking lot go away. It has to be one of the worst in the city.

This and Sixth and Guadalupe should really help everything west of Guadalupe feel more connected to the rest of downtown. At the moment, as a pedestrian, it feels like a weird gap when walking through anywhere north of 2nd St. Now, if only something would finally be announced for the post office block.

Agreed. It seems borderline ridiculous at this point no project has been announced for that site.

What the heck are they waiting for?!?

I am excited to see that parking lot go away because it was ridiculously overpriced and goes against the fundamental tenets of American freedoms originally envisioned by the Founding Fathers, that parking and refills on soda should always be free.

I walked past today as well. There was indeed some digging going on! THis is one I'm really looking forward to. Especially the street interaction and setback on the park side!

Agreed - I've been excited about this one and the plaza for a long time. Glad to see it moving forward.

Here's a view of the "earth moving operations" from the other side:

Not to be a Debbie Downer but the road roller in the pic would lead one to believe they will be repairing the asphalt. Hope not though!

False alarm. I just walked over and it was indeed an asphalt repair operation. Machinery has cleared the site and that hole has been patched.

There hasn't been any permit activity since the license agreement for the tower cranes was filed. The best news outside of a groundbreaking announcement will be a right of way closure permit for construction. That's what we had for 98RR, 415 Colorado and 321 West.

curious, why make repairs if you planned to break ground soon?
