You're welcome I have been meaning to post an updated post of current developments. I haven't posted much on the Canadian section of the forum. | should poke in and see sometimes.

The crane is going up on Christmas Hill. I'll post a photo of it once it's up.

Vicdev, thanks again for the update.

Yates on yates will finally get rid of the worst parking lot in the city so that building can't come soon enough

Your welcome for the photos I need to start using my camera I'm still trying to figure out Flickr.

I will go by Christmas Hill tomorrow to see if they have the tower crane up yet.

There was an article on CTV Vancouver Island on construction development and a lack of inventory. It was on at 11pm

I'll show you what I mean.

I asked you to name a downtown lot that was of no value to anyone and this was your answer, or rather your non-answer:

What's the implication here? You don't believe that there's even one parking lot, empty lot, or crapshack in the entire downtown area?
Here's another example after asking you were if you were joking when you said Vibrant Victoria was controversial:

The reason I asked was because I didn't think there was anything controversial about VV but not only did you not answer my question, you appeared to ask another question.

Normally when I ask people simple questions, they answer and we move on, but for some reason it doesn't work that way with you.

Thanks for this pic. A really good shot. I was going to take some photos of Mayfair Mall's expansion but I got lazy. Maybe on Saturday. It looks like they are building the ramp for roof top parking on Finlyson side.

The article interviewed people and showed video of different developments around town. They said even with all the new development there is a shortage of housing of all types rental, new condos, new housing in the westshore etc. They said that there is a shortage of listings in the Victoria markets. Saying some are opting to buy a year and sometimes 2 years in advance on some projects.

Now read the rest of my post Aastra

In that Chek 6 poll I voted three times (on all my devices) and still didn't change any percentages. 52% like the restrictions and 48% oppose them. Doesn't get much closer than that. Hopefully the city will ignore this poll. Townline said they want to build a 30 story tower at the Hudson's Bay parking lot site but I thought a 24 story building was already planned for that site

Check 6 news have posted a story about Townline's proposal at 30 stories on the old Bay building's parkade. It has been approved at two towers of 17 and 24 stories. I'm not sure if the 17 story tower will remain the same.

http://www.cheknews.ca/vancouver-isl...eloper-296813/

Here's a photo of the demolished parkade I took earlier this week.

So you think Townline might seek a height variance from the city and cancel the 17 story tower in order to build one 30 story tower instead?

No I think they will keep the 17 story tower. I wonder if they'd seek more height on that building as well. It would look better in my opinion if the 30 story was approved that the other tower would be maybe 20 plus stories.

It was on CTV news as well.

http://vancouverisland.ctvnews.ca/th...?autoPlay=true

They said if they were able to build a 30 story tower they could build a leaner design than the 24 story. There is going to be an "information session about the development on April 5, and says it will provide examples of how both an approved 24-storey plan and the 30-storey proposal would fit in with the existing skyline"

Charlayne Thornton-Joe was interviewed and she said that they see the need for density and more condos on market outside of old town and away from historical location. She said there would be support for the extra height and density. I was surpised because she was the only councilor to vote the Fall's building at 17 and 14 over the 18 and 13 that we got.
