The cold snap is over. Back to regular clothes. It's still freezing.

4.1 and overcast, the low was 1.9. The snow cover is gone, the rain and fog took care of that. I thought for sure the ground would be frozen at least a few inches deep after that sustained cold last week, but the ground sucked up all the rain and melted snow up without a problem. I measured a soil temp of 3.9C at a depth of six inches today

Got out for a night bike ride last night, -1 stating -10 and the end 2 hours later. Snow on the ground is ok but we do need a hell of a lot more. The group I ride with all mentioned if we don't get more summer riding will be hell with all the forest fires. Currently 66 zombie fires burning so come spring and dry conditions those flare up again.

Some snow overnight in Moncton, but, only about 2-3 cm accumulation. Currently +1C and partly cloudy.

Another 3-4 cm of snow tomorrow evening. This might get us close to about 8 cm total accumulation on the ground. Still no major blizzards this winter to talk about.

Yesterday. The fog was quite notable, and the day hung around 0 to 1C. We had some rain by 3 pm, with more fog appearing after it began to disipate very slowly around noon.

Rainy and 14c in Taipei. Kept indoors for most of the day, but walked around the old town for a bit.
Heading south to Kaohsiung where temperatures are much more inline with what to expect this time of year.

0C and cloudy today.

Was -5C (wind chill of -10) early night. It kept warmer but the system did bring freezing rain.

The warmspot was Port Hardy, BC at 10.2C.

Warmest low was Herbert Island, BC at 9.0C. This could actually be the mildest low this year in the country if it holds. Confirmation tomorrow.

A repeat of the weather we had a month ago: foggy, damp with a cold wind. Garbage night on West Queen West

We got 13.7 mm of rain last night, with a low of 2.6. not very nice, but at least the rain washed away the remaining nasty piles of snow and everything is clean again. This is the fourth day in a row with a low above freezing.

- EC is calling for 2cm of snow tonight and 2cm tomorrow, with some mix of rain and freezing rain involved. They are calling for periods of snow for Friday, "snow or rain" for Friday night, and periods of rain for Saturday (no amounts given).
- TWN is calling for 1-3cm Thursday, 5-10cm Friday, <1cm Saturday, and 1-3cm Sunday, with no rain amounts forecasted...

Yesterday we received a few cm of snow, then it turned to rain (there appeared to be some freezing rain during the changeover) and rained until the afternoon, when it cleared off a little and then cooled down last night. Currently the ground is still bare.

So... the score is:
EC 1
TWN 0

Both entities are calling for 5-ish cm over today, tonight and tomorrow morning, so it will likely be a draw after that. It looks like we will have snow on the ground come tomorrow.

And of course the forecasts have already changed with EC predicting snow for Sunday night and Monday and snow again Tuesday night/Wed.

TWN is now predicting 5 - 8 cm of snow Sunday night/Monday and <1cm for Tues.

Temperatures are predicted to be moderate/seasonal for the next week, more or less.

Sun and cloud and -6 at just before noon.

Feels really nice out there today because winds are calm. Compared to a few days ago when it was warmer at -1 but it was extremely windy, it was very unpleasant.

Down south in Kaohsiung now to spend time with family, and the weather is back to what you'd normally expect this time a year. It's still slightly below average, but it was a very comfortable 23c.

Lots of melting going today. Poured rain all morning. Sky over the lake was unexpectedly unique.

Interesting dividing line in the lake. It was like all the melted chunks of ice from the shore floated out into the lake forming a line of sorts

0C today and every kind of precipitation. We had all 3 kinds of precipitation at the same time across the island of Montreal.

Low of -1C (wind chill of -7) this morning.

The warmspot was West Vancouver, BC at 12.7C. That is the new high for 2024.

Warmest low was Fanny Island, BC at 8.1C.

Nice day. The sky was bright and we even got a little bit of sun. No precipitation until supper time.

Friday's high at Vancouver Harbour was 11 C, the low was 7 C.
