I agree. From my understanding they were getting it right this time. Prices were more reasonable and they were apparently establishing a decent customer base. I have to admit that I am surprised by this.

We need to be careful to avoid the dark hole of negativity.

Isn’t the owner the same guy who tried to open all those failed Pannizza franchises in town without even testing the market with a single one first?

Rumors are just that. There's a lot of talk around this city that isn't true: I had heard that both Pi and Magnum & Steins were close to shutting their doors years ago, but look what came of that.

I'm curious as to where you're getting your information on that. No one else has heard anything of the sort, so what is leading you to make that statement??

I've had a few people tell me that they're closing the piano bar or upstairs, or something. So that is kind of "of the sort", he he

Where there's smoke, there's usually fire.

The Dennys sign in up on Kenmount Road, located on the Sandman Signature sign. The sign frame of Dennys is on the restaurant itself as well

The piano bar and lounge at the Fifth Ticket is closing. The restaurant remains open. https://www.facebook.com/events/193844518035836/

I guess this is why the games arcade left and why Fog City will be moving out as well. Sounds like it could be interesting.

In other news, social media is reporting that Denny's at the sandman Signature Hotel on Kenmount Road will be opening on Monday, March 5th. This is unconfirmed, of course, although it looks to be pretty much ready to open from passing by.

Not really surprised to hear this. There so many other pizza options in and around town. They shut down the Torbay road location years ago (it’s a now LASIK Eye clinic now). Then they reopened in Churchill Sq some years later only to shut that location down too. I’m beginning to thing they just have no clue how to operate in St. John’s.

On a branding note. Loved the fact that they spend a load of cash on a very useless looking renovation a couple of years ago at Topsail Riad and then didn’t put their corporate logo back on the actual building.

They are not closed, just a temporary closure for renovations. The sign on their door today says "Closed for renovations, re-opening again soon."

Well hopefully that’s true. Though “closed for renovations” is a classic excuse for business when they go out of business. And they did a total renovation couple of years ago. Perhaps they are changing ownership or management? Who knows. Still skeptical.

I'm guessing that Adelaide Oyster House will either move or expand into this space. Adelaide has been really successful and is always busy. They have a really small spot, so this would be a great opportunity for them.

I was talking to someone who is friends with the owner of Pizza Hut Topsail Road, the location has been sold and will soon host a Robins Donuts/241 Pizza
