I say that cause here we are with a much larger downtown and we had tons of proposels but Denver cant get anything above 30 stories to break ground. Everything keeps getting delayed or kicking the bucket.

But then again your city population is greater than ours ( u got 3mill+ ?) so its about time to get some construction too.

The whole Central Puget Sound area is working hard to focus growth in downtowns and urban villages, and minimizing growth on the edges. So every major downtown and many smaller centers are seeing heavy growth in percentage terms.

I wouldn't worry too much about Denver. It's doing fine already. As for the proposed towers, it's unclear how many the flatter condo market and higher construction costs will derail. But the good news is that regardless of what happens in 2006/7, the market will cycle back, and towers will be built. Developers want to go forward and buyers want to buy, even if the economics are temporarily in the way (which they may or may not be).

The Raymer Square building is now history.

In other news, today's DJC has a story about the Eastside performing arts center's contractor being chosen. So maybe it's gonna start construction soon!

Sellen picked to build $100M Eastside performance center

Aparently buildings in the 23 and 12 story range. Just to the south.

and according to the rendering on one of the bellevue development pdfs, ashwood 2 will look nothing like ashwood one. Two very cuby buildings that that taper out near the bottom with terraces on top of the tapers. 23ish on the north end of the lot with the 12 story to the southeast.

OK, I got a screenshot rendering for Ashwood II from horatio's link and put it on the first page. I also got a rendering for the 2nd tower of that senior citizen's complex across from the 1020 Tower and categorized that as "In the future." I also changed the performing arts center from "In the future" to "Coming soon" since they've now selected a contractor for it.

Selecting a contractor usually doesn't mean a quick start. A project like this might hire its contractor a year in advance typically, or even 18 months in advance.

PACE will start when the design is complete, permitting is in order, and they raise tens of millions more than they have so far. The last part is a significant challenge they need to overcome, and, while I think they'll succeed, the timing is totally unclear.

Well, it still sounds like it's at least "sort of" close to being started, so "coming soon" would probably be a better categorization of it than "In the future."

Some new information about the 10th Street Overpass, and also some information on the schedule for the buildings being completed.

Your "in the future" category includes projects with contractors. Not that I'm blabbing.

Well OK then, I just combined the "Coming Soon" with the "In the Future" sections into one combined "Proposed" section and got it over with.

I'm not so sure I'm liking the facade of the Eddie Bauer Tauer. Some of it looks OK but some of it looks kinda busy and . . . tacky.

Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Hans. I am a professional photographer. I did not attend the art institute. All of my training came from the very exclusive studio at Glamour Shots. I will be photographing the many changes to downtown bellevue.

I am so excited to see Bellevue growing up. The best thing to Happen to Bellevue was when the guy who designed all of the glass buildings with sharp angles died! Now all of the buildings do not look the same. I'm of course speaking of the newly renamed Symetra building, Bellevue Center 1 and the building southeast of the attrocious Galleria.

I will either post my pics here or start a new link.
