Meet Our Launching Gantries
The names of our launching gantries reflect the communities where they will be working. Fleetwood Flyer, Langley Launcher, Surrey Sprinter and Clayton Clipper will play a large part in constructing the Surrey Langley SkyTrain.

Fleetwood Flyer
The Fleetwood Flyer will begin installing guideway segments at Bakerview–166 Street Station and move west through the Fleetwood community to 152 Street Station.
Fleetwood Flyer will be lifting just over 1,000 guideway segments into place.
Launch date: Scheduled for July 2025

Langley Launcher
The Langley Launcher will begin installing guideway segments at Hillcrest–184 Street Station and move east towards Langley City Centre Station, the last stop on the SLS extension.
This gantry has the biggest workload and will be lifting roughly 1,350 elevated guideway segments into place.
Launch date: Anticipated in July 2025

Surrey Sprinter
The Surrey Sprinter will begin installing guideway segments at 152 Street Station and move west toward King George Station, connecting the current Expo Line to the SLS extension.
This gantry will be responsible for lifting just over 900 elevated guideway segments into place.
Launch date: Anticipated in August 2025

Clayton Clipper
The Clayton Clipper will begin installing guideway segments at Hillcrest–184 Street Station and move west through the Clayton community before finishing its work at Bakerview–166 Street Station.
The Clayton Clipper’s route includes the installation about 1,150 elevated guideway segments.
Launch date: Anticipated in September 2025

Location was announced a year ago, it's the parcel south east of the Highway 15 / Fraser Highway interchange. Size is TBD. There's going to be switches and a storage track installed near that location for access, and the alignment shifts to the South of Fraser Highway there to align with the property. There will be a stub track built. Check out this pdf for the alignment.

Not yet at the procurement stage so we (and likely 'they') don't know the scope of what will initially be built regarding track capacity.
Currently, construction is anticipated to start 2028.
It's going to be very pricey, north of a billion, with extensive groundwork needed.

Preload will start to be placed this fall continuing through late 2026 and will stay in place until early 2029, presumably with construction starting at that time.

Someone with authority, needs to push construction up to when pre-load is complete. If they can get it finished by 2029/30, then they could use that extra space to re-build OMC1/2 to modernize them and maximize train storage andmaintance capacity.

3 years of having a second OMC free to use could rebuild edmonds to hold more trains and be re-designed from the ground up to be supportive of 5-car trains.

What would a complete rebuild of OMC1 look like and how much capacity improvement could we get out of it?
