what is up with the second and third floors there on the left? It almost looks like they sunk together or merged into one

It's a parking garage - 14 floors' worth. The floors are set up in a spiral ramp configuration.

This tower has been under construction coming up on two years now, and they’re still on the parking garage?

The core is up to floor 27, the larger floor they are working on now is one of the amenity floors which will feature some outdoor terraces. Steel supposed to start going up in this spring.

Why is the podium so much bigger than in the picture?

Update from this weekend. The core is ~60% of the final height.

Is this thing just one big elevator shaft, or will there eventually be floor plates?

I imagine the office floors will be steel and that'll start being erected shortly.

Per an article from early from early Feb steel is supposed to start going up "in a month and a half" so expecting mid March for that to start. Same article said the structural steel would be topped out by the end of 2025.

I do agree on the garage being pretty obnoxious. Probably overkill, but hey if it gets a Fortune 500 to build a new tallest in a metro of a million I won't complain too much.

I wonder how the steel tariffs are going to impact high rise construction projects around the country? I am sure new orders will be more expensive but will it take longer to get steel to the sites now?

The first glass panels are going in and the tower is showing up over the hills west of downtown.
