It's always been 40, I believe. Look at the elevations on page 3 (I think) of this thread. 40 stories + roof + mech. penthouse. However, not sure why there was an increase in height...

The new elevations were posted for AULCC. It's a little more than 656' tall - maybe 660'. Some estimating is needed for the lowest side.

On the west elevation, is that the old Franks incorporated into the ground floor?

I love this one, but man, they need to have the business end of that crown facing south with the rest of the skyline. Either way, that would mean the inside of the crown would be visible from I-35 to the northeast.

You know, I’m not sure it's a cylinder any more. More square, with rounded sides maybe?

I noticed on the building elevations that this one also has a "sky deck".

I also measured the height from the lowest elevation, which is at the southwest corner, and I came up with 658 feet.

No, that's the building just north of the Franks one.

I believe it was always a rounded square. At least it has been over the last two releases of elevations.

A little WIP. I decided to focus on 5C for a while, because BBVA might as well stand for big, boring, very Austin- while 5C has a bit more pizzazz.

Hot.

But it does remind me a little of 1100 Wilshire in LA, which is not hot.

This is the one in the pipeline right now that I'm most excited about. Well this or that South Shore complex at the Statesman site.

Thanks for posting that, Studio! That density with BBVA/6X is cray cray. Watch out Chicago

That may be true, however, it does "elevate" the skyline and punches through the 500" platform. I like the sensuousness of the rounded corners and the tilted top. I like the form, but wonder about the color it will be. I am not much into dark glass curtain walls. More formal drawing are greatly anticipated!

Thanks for the effort studioinnovatus.

Lol I actually meant that as sarcasm. Just another building as tall as the current tallest building in Austin — no big whoop!

For what it’s worth, I like it a lot, too. It’s going to give us a much needed curviness to the tall tower set.

Are we going to see any real, high quality renderings if this tower is already spoken for (i.e. has only one tennant signed on for the entire lot)? As a developer, I wouldn't think it's a necessary expense.

Just a thought.
