Yeah, Orleans projects seem impossibly low to start.

Project resubmitted (August 2024)

Buh-bye most balconies. Glazing reduced. Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V. RLA-ification complete. Ugh.

It was approved twice. Last time was in July. Why do they keep wasting the City's time with re-submissions?

They're trying to make it cheaper and uglier

I won't believe my eyes when they actually start this project. Never seen such a slow moving process, what are we at now 7 years since the first submission.

Looks like this project has started. Big excavator on site digging and clearing some trees.
FINALLY (it's only been since the summer of 2017 this project was announced)

Fencing is up around the site and more heavy equipment on site working. Looks like this is really moving forward after so many years of no action. Looking forward to seeing this go up.

Me too. Hopefully this will be a catalyst for the other projects in the pipeline aiming to urbanize Orleans near the O-Train stations.

Seems this is now a partnership with Mastercraft-Starwood (SoHo). Hoggytime shared the website, but link is broken. Here's a rendering he was able to find. Much better all black than the charchwhite design they had before.

It's too bad we can't zoom in on these images. There are two workers standing on the crane arm just to the left of the tower portion working on the cabling for the crane itself. A job there is not enough money in the world to pay me to do!
