Any idea what that gray panelled area with the raised podium is for?

I wish I could post a more educated critique but honestly it's one of the most hideous buildings I've seen in a long time. An absolute mess of mis-matched glazing, a sea of mullions. Hurts my eyes, thank God it's in a semi industrial location.

It's different, unique, you've got to give it that.

Ah, thanks. That Vogue Lounge is a nail salon.
- desks on the left for manicures and chairs and basins on the right for pedicures.

So that whole Vogue Lounge facility is a shared workspace for the beauty industry? That's interesting.

**********

I don't mind the building.
The different glazings provide variety (as if they were adjacent building on separate lots).
A bit more colour would have helped but could have looked tacky.
I can see why they didn't (need to) take the slot windows on the hotel to the north side, but a more consistent cladding all around the hotel may have been more cohesive for thatparticular tower.
The main disappointment to me is the design on the garage screening and the "pixelation" of it with blank panels.

Thanks.

I snipped out the office tower by Oak St. Bridge and posted it in the Richmond thread.

No sign of the Hyatt Place hotel that was supposed to be built in the foreground near the Days Inn.

That's a big swimming pool for the hotel!

Right click on the image then select open in new tab or window, the image will auto fit your screen (if your browser screen size (zoom) is set at 100%).

Here's a resized one

Yes, it looks like it going to be nice swimming pool. I'll have to jump the fence one night and take a dip

Nice to see at least three 3+ star hotels in the neighbourhood on this side of Richmond now. The surrounding landscaping needs to be improved for better pedestrian accessibility.

There are/were projects proposed for the surrounding parcels, not sure of status though.

Wonder how enjoyable that otherwise nice looking deck pool is considering the industrial nature of the environs...

Better now until something tall is built to the east and shadows the pool deck.

The pool heated, you can see the steam rise of the surface. I'd like to try it out on one of our coldest days.
