The rendering includes the horrible old low(ish)-rise apartment building on the NW corner of that block. It's an eye-sore - wish it was going to be demolished and a part of this project.

Yep, heard from one of the owner's last month. Apparently they just picked up another 3 acre site in the Beltline. He wouldn't say where though

Wow that's a full city block, you talking about Cidex or Wexford? I'll let you know if something shows up.

On a related note I'm hoping a developer buys up that fugly strip mall on 11th av and 1st sw soon, so ugly.

^ No, but they are building the tallest one first - in the SW corner.

So are they going ahead with this one right away? That would be terrific.

Oh ok, cool. Are they going to demo the old building on the site anyway? IIRC that is on the SE corner, the SW corner is all parking

The whole site will get demolished, save for that stupid ugly building on the NW corner.

Great news. A 150 meter tall rental building in a city our size is an excellent sign

I'm assuming phase 1 includes the grocery store?

I'm not certain, but I believe the first phase includes the entire retail component.

THey're doing some underground utility work on site. Could be the reason for the delays.

According to Wexford, their targeted start date is in Q2 2015.

Here are some new high-res renders...

These buildings will be wicked cool if they stay true to the renders. I'm kinda over that 'random blocks of colour' style that's on the podium here though. (And some other projects)

I'm glad to see they are proposing retail facing 9th now instead of the massive wall of concrete that it was in the early renders. Not sure how well it will do there but just about anything beats a blank wall.

Edit: I take that back, it looks like the retail is fronting on to 8th not 9th
