I was wondering if it had something to do with the artwork on the building...

Mark Twain quote.... Between the open coffee maker and this quote, maybe it will be designed to be "open" and inviting towards the public, inviting them to come in and discover and dream among other buzzwords

Here is a description of three walls, and perhaps this is a reflection of what part of the library complex may include:

"Threewalls is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to increasing Chicago’s cultural capital by cultivating contemporary art practice and discourse. Through a range of exhibition and public programs, including symposiums, lectures, performances and publications, Threewalls creates a locus of exchange between local, national and international contemporary art communities."

There are some... interesting contingencies in the library design.

I highly doubt she dug up an obscure Chicago art collective because their mission statement matches the Library's... More likely she googled "Three walls" and this was the first hit.

Positive but unexpected, probably won't be used any time soon.

Maybe there's a coffee shop or something?

Edit: responding to 5seconds not BlueCypress.

Oh long term thinking! That's always good to hear. Does it have something to do with the connection to city hall?

Potential to burn books for heat once everything's digitized?

I think we're going to get a very different result than many of you are expecting.

For the current proposal or long term contingencies?

From the description on the website "This latest NanoSight instrument provides multi-faceted analysis that now includes a motorized filter wheel,"

That must have been what she was getting at.

Exactly. Either both are thoughtful or both are very basic exoteric references. If the building is a three walled nano-particle visualizer (or whatever that thing was) YYCCC should be shown the door. I'll extend them more credit than that at this point.

Seems like we've had a few hints that there's going to be some kind of oval element.
