Does anyone know if you buy a presell condo, if they are suppose to disclose if you have those circular support beams in your unit.

Or do you get one either way and they don't tell you till you actually show up

Usually you would see them on the floor plan. Looking at the design of the building I don't think there are any circular support beams in any of the units.

By "beams" I'm assuming you actually mean columns.

Circular beams are virtually non-existent in architecture and construction in projects of this kind.

(Beams are the ones that run horizontally, while Columns run vertically from the floor to ceiling)

I'm also going to assume that (if you are referring to circular columns) that this is a Feng Shui related issue (having worked on designs myself and learning that circular shapes in dwellings are a no-no in certain cultural dispensation.)

Regardless with a design of this sort it's doubtful they'd have any columns that are circular either, and most architects in Vancouver are aware of this
"concern" enough that they'll avoid using having them if they can get away with it, given the effect that these sort of things have on marketability.

In certain cases you simply can not avoid having them - especially if the structural engineer says so.

yes it's columns. Thanks for the info!!! I'm quite new to this. I looked at the plans, seems like they use thicker concrete walls vs circular colums, it was only a concern because I've been to a few open houses and saw that they have it in teh corner and it looked quite bad and took up much of the living space

Oh nice. My parents got the demo colors too (pallete 1). My friend who's all into hipster stuff (lives in yaletown) said that pallet 2 w/ the lighter oak floors are the 'new' thing...so i was like... worried

I got a email about a free welcome gift or something. Does every pre-sell get taht?

what did you end up getting normally? (i didn't get it yet) but my friend who brought a 400k presell said it's normally wine, or a step ladder?

My friend bought pre-sale for another development and he got a Godiva chocolate gift basket. I'm sure your developer will have something for all their customers. The feeling must be amazing to not only see the new place but also a gift basket sitting in the kitchen.

I got a fancy looking pen with "Modello" engraved on the clip...pretty sure the retail value of that pen was like $50 haha
