Not only did the Dominion of Newfoundland have a PM, it also had a Governor. Hopefully that doesn’t give Trump any ideas lol

Was there a dedicated residence for the prime minister then? Or did they live in their own houses?

I don't think so, there was only a residence for the lieutenant governor, built 1827-1831, and still in use.

However, the closest thing to an "official" residence for a premier was the one built for Smallwood in 1958, called Newfoundland House, but I think it was meant to remain in the family.
