Berm Construction Begins for Walterdale Bridge
January 22, 2013
Construction has begun on river berms for the new Walterdale Bridge and will continue until late March 2013. The berms—small work platforms on the north and south edges of the river—are necessary for bridge construction to begin this spring.
Berm construction will not affect vehicle traffic across the Walterdale Bridge, however, to ensure their safety, pedestrians and cyclists using nearby trails are cautioned to follow detour signs. An updated trail detour map is available.
In early January 2013, the City cleared trees on both sides of the river and closed trails near the current Walterdale Bridge to accommodate access roads needed for berm construction
