Good grief!!!, there's a thread for this? We need someone to link this to the buildings going up! The last two buildings in the last update are long completed, have a pizza place, a medical clinic and a few other shops either opened up or opening.
Here, a recentish photo of the new towers (on the right):

And the newest towers....twins at 28 floors;

Yeah, Mississauga is not exactly a paragon of urban planning, to put it mildly.

No problem.....I'm glad to bring this thread back, albeit this project has some substandard architecture.

What's up with the building boom here? Never heard of this city before. Great buildings. I like them a lot.

Mississauga is part of the Greater Toronto Area so it is experiencing the same construction boom going on in Toronto. It's got about 750,000 people living in it so it's a fairly large city too.

For most of its history, it has been a commuter city for Toronto so large swaths of land are just subdivisions. However, the population started to explode in the early 00's so while growing, has been trying to shed that reputation by building a big downtown. It's pretty incomplete at the moment, lots of big roads that don't really suit a downtown, and all new construction has been condos or apartments, but it's something.

Taken today off my phone, Parkside Village phase 3
DSC_9715 by Josh Kenn Photographics, on Flickr

Also, it looks like the fourth phase, called Avia, is finally starting. Judging by earlier renders, this should be around 45-50 floors, with a committed park space and another tower that's shorter to the west.

EDIT: Found that for the lands just north of my photo, the following is proposed;
Five mixed use buildings consisting of a 38 storey, a 50 storey, a 40 storey, a 12 storey and a 55 storey.building. This was found in the building applications section of Mississauga's municipal website.

Taken four days ago, left side;
A Changing Skyline by Draulerin Photographics, on Flickr

Also, a new rendering was released for Avia Condos, the newest phase.

These are twins, around 40-45 floors in height it seems;

They're located on the bottom right, or the very north east end of the site;

Took this three days ago....these newest towers will remind me of post-war apartments by some degree with their usage of concrete around the balconies;

Oh yes, and the next phase is already into excavation....I'll provide an update later on, likely when we see a crane or two.
