Wow, $70 bucks...now I'm waffling about Beck...

Also a fun city to rehearse in.

I thought they just did it to save money when the Canadian dollar was still low.

Anyone know when single-day tickets go on sale for Pemberton Festival? There was talk that it would be in the next couple of weeks, but I can't find any info.

As of last week they'd sold just over 30,000 3-day tickets, so it'll probably sell out. I really just wanna check out the saturday:

Saturday, July 26th:
Main Stage

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers (source: Festival site)
The Tragically Hip (source: pollstar, MySpace and thehip.com)
The Flaming Lips (source: flaminglips.com)
My Morning Jacket (source: mymorningjacket.com)
Sam Roberts Band (source: festival site and MySpace)

Also Sheryl Crow will be at GM place Oct 4th, tickets go on sale this friday.

A few quick cell phone shots I took at Iron Maiden:

Such an insane show! I managed to push all the way to the very front of the floor. I was only about three feet from the band.

Okay I know this doesn't really belong in this thread, but otherwise no one would read this and I think alot of people here would find it of interest.

Great write up about a local venue called Hoko’s Karaoke and Sushi Bar on Powell St, I've never been there, maybe someone here can shed some light on it.

LiveNation was quoted in the Province mentioning they'd sold 30,000 as of a month ago- of course, they're the promoter so take that for what it's worth. Apparently all 20,000 campsite tickets are gone though.

Given that they're now selling single day tickets I think it's doubtful they can completely sell out at 40,000 (ie. doubtful many will buy single day passes for just the Friday). In any event, it will probably be well above 30,000 in attendance.

do you have any bigger/more photos? I wonder if I'm in any of them? I was right near the front too, to the middle-right side of the stage, near where Janick was usually playing.

Absolutely incredible show, the best I've ever been too. I cant believe how awesome Bruce sounded at his age, he hit almost every note, even with the high-intensity performance.

I was right near Janick too! (right at the barrier from Rime onwards) I was the tall, skinny, long-haired guy with glasses in a Team Canada Eddie shirt. Here I am, maybe you'll recognize me:

Post one of yourself, if you want. I remember quite a few of the people there. The dude in the Canada flag was hilarious.

Unfortunately I don't have any bigger photos, because the concert was before I figured out how to switch my phone from 160x120 to 640x480.

Stone Temple Pilots to Perform Live at the General Motors Place in Vancouver August 30

The Stone Temple Pilots will be performing live at General Motors Place in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 30 at 7:30 pm concluding their 2008 tour.

An American rock band, the Stone Temple Pilots, often abbreviated as STP, is comprised of Scott Weiland (vocals), Robert DeLeo (bass guitar, vocals), Dean DeLeo (guitar) and Eric Kretz (drums, percussion). The band formed in 1987 and continued to play until their 2003 breakup. Five years later, the band reunited and is currently touring throughout the US before they begin recording their sixth album in November.

whatever Madonna tickets are still left are behind the stage and obstructed view

but I think it'd be neat if they could fill in all the end zone seats behind the stage and pack 70,000 into the Stadium.

Ravman, how many people is the Floor designed to seat in a concert configuration? 10,000?

no they release seats all over the place

i know some people in new york just found tickets the other day right next to the cat walk - very amazing seats

its an attempt not to let scalpers get them so easily ap[parently they release the concert tickets in batches

also been told if you have crappy tickets and show up at the venue its a good bet you can trade them for better seats - granted you pay the difference but a lot of people went from nose bleeds to floor seats that way

these are people who plan on going to 4 of her concerts in new york and las vegas - some people will be going to euorpe and at least 5 us cities

crazy the amount of money the waste on her
