As much as I like highrises, I'm thrilled at the midrise density we're getting.
Because it's raining I started counting, and I got to 143 new buildings and additions (3-9 stories) in the last 20 years without even crossing 1-5. The total must approach 200 buildings in a couple thousand acres. (ps, that's 21 or 22 years of construction, because I counted completions at the beginning, and starts at the end)
That's not flashy density. But it's a big reason why Seattle feels like more of a big city than it did in 1988.
