Where do you see the cladding? I heard that The Index is being built to take full use to the sun. Does anyone know anything about this?

How long is "long?" And if it has been going on for some time, why isn't the cladding-building height ratio similar to the Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago. The cladding for that one is already all over the whole entire building except for the recent 3 or 4 floors that were just built. If you cover up the part of the building that is under construction, it appears as if the building is complete. Imagine if they did that for the Burj Dubai!!!

The best tower going up in Dubai! I am glad to see all the progress. There is just so much appeal to the tower and so much presence.

The formwork jumped up to the 35th floor. It took them 9 days to complete the 34th.

I have not been following the Index's construction until only recently. Is 9 days a long or short time for The Index?

Short. They must have an easy system running apposed to Burj's, which is running at like 10 panels a day max (not floors).

The figure quoted (by me) was for the construction of floors not for the cladding.

There is alot more cladding on the front of the building (opposite side from what Imre's pictures show) but the tiles over the sides are at a very similar colour then the concrete underneath and the glass seams very transparent (due to lack of any interiour walls) so it is hard to see the cladding.

Below are close ups of the facade that I took on July 1st, but didn't posted in here:

See what I mean?

The facade (not glass) is much darker than it appeared in the renderings. I liked the white paneling much better. Just glad to see this one rising at a quick pace though.

What will this building be used for? Office or residential or mixture?
