The Bear Mountain Bridge. Outside of New York City, but still inside the metropolitan area, it links together Westchester and Rockland counties, in a very beautiful setting. By the time of its construction, in 1924, it was the longest suspension bridge in the world, until it was surpassed 19 months later by the Benjamin Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia.

A few won't hurt, but I guess we could do a separate thread for the bridges surrounding New York, there are so many. I want to keep this specifically on the city's bridges though,
they are the glue that hold it together (along with the subways).
