Based on the info on the approved and released elevations added to the site plan, I get 452' for the height. We previously had 455' for the height.

Honestly pretty excited for the rust-colored metal paneling, especially if it's corten or looks like it. The panels on 3rd&CO look great. I want to see more earthy materials like these, I think it ties together the earth tones of Austin's old skyline with the glassy 21st century. The Lake Flato tower on Rainey seems to be going for a similar thing. I would love to see Austin define an aesthetic identity around those lines: modern but natural, forward-thinking but rooted in local tradition.

Looks like there's also a subtle lattice pattern going on that I didn't notice in earlier renderings, running up the north side and then across the roof. That could look really neat if they light it up.

Rainey skyline about to look like a pretty major skyline on it's own.

Yeah at first glance I wasn't remotely interested in this design but the formed metal wall panels may make it look cool.

This one really seems to be underway. But it's weird that there has been no official groundbreaking or sales center opening announcement.

Honestly, why even bother right now? Houses in my neighborhood are being sold before the demo on the existing ranch home even starts.

Just put up a big billboard with a rendering and the money will follow.

Because this one is multifamily. The student housing projects u/c in WC are the only to-rent projects that open a sales/leasing center off site just a few months before completion.

I thought this one was condos.

It is, to my knowledge.

Although as an only loosely-related point, it's quite annoying how large the leasing center spaces are in many downtown apartment buildings. Why do you even need anything more than a small office, one empty unit to show potential renters, and a website that functions well? Honestly, with how housing is right now, I doubt you really even need more than just the functioning website....

Seems like a waste when you could use the space for ground-floor commercial (or even residential amenities) that would still provide benefits to the owner of the building, and also the people in the area....

Obviously this building isn't perfectly situated for ground-floor commercial seeing as it's facing I-35 (in a row of buildings which have 0 commercial space as well). But surely they could rent it at a discount for the first few years, or otherwise look ahead to when Rainey St. is full up, and there's even higher demand for spaces in the surrounding area? Who knows.

Ah. Their website does say condos. Not sure why multifamily was mentioned here:

Live in the desert, and be close to Rainey!

What in the bloody hell is that travesty of a marketing effort? Austin is not the desert, you silly Yankees. Stop it.

I might have had it backwards. Maybe it's live in Rainey, and be close to the desert? It's a project financed by New Yorkers hence the marketing I suspect.

They must have gotten Austin and El Paso mixed up. Don't we all do that from time to time? Wait, that's ridiculous. Nevermind, this ad sucks.

Looks like Van Horn, to me. Maybe one of their perks is free space rides on Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin space rocket?

Maybe they'll use a cactus for the topping out ceremony.

People looking at the marketing material: "I wonder if I could see those mysterious lights in the desert from my balcony?"
