The world has become more intertwined. In order for a city's economy to grow, it MUST be connected to the world. Atlanta is blessed to have such a connected airport where direct travel is possible to FIVE continents. HJAIA even has the amazing A380 flying in and out of the airport. I know that this is transportation related but this could also lead to development as well as opening up Atlanta to the world.
Now the airport GM needs to work on getting Qantas to offer flights to and from HJAIA
QATAR Airlines set to expand to Atlanta's Hartsfield Jackson International Airport.

Qatar Airways announces the next phase of its USA route development with the introduction of three new passenger routes to Los Angeles, Boston and Atlanta. With these new destinations, Qatar Airways will offer daily nonstop services to all 10 of the largest metropolitan areas of the United States.
Atlanta, Georgia, the business centre of the southeast region of the United States, will be Qatar Airways’ third new route to the US and will commence with daily flights starting on 1st July 2016. The route will be operated with the airline’s flagship Boeing 777 aircraft.
