Some bad translations are great. I used to get soba noodles that said to eat them with sauce "for palatable enhancement" (and to cook the noodles before eating them).

Wonky translation notwithstanding I'm interested to see what they're offering and how they do business here I'm sure it'll be a learning experience on both sides-consumer & retailer.

Aberdeen has lost IZZUE and Bathing Ape and Chocolate have closed down to make way for Gram pancakes and Aigle. I don't know if they moved as I didn't really look around, they were both pretty popular.

There is a store called Aigle opening that sells rubber boots.

Handcrafted in France since 1853, Aigle rubber boots set the global standard for quality, style and durability.

With their head-turning good looks and legendary durability, they have long been the rubber boot of choice in France. In fact, people in France often pass their Aigle boots down to the next generation.

I heard many of these stores are owned by Aberdeen's management company as "infills", especially for the more unpopular retail spaces upstairs.

So suitable for a Canada Goose-centric look.

Kastner said Jaytex has worked out a deal with Hudson’s Bay where the best of L.L.Bean products in all categories will be sold in self-contained branded shops ranging from 300 square feet up to 2,000 square feet.

“These shops will house our key product categories which include men’s, women’s and kids’ apparel, footwear, bags and accessories. They will be mini L.L.Bean stores within Hudson’s Bay. Kastner said that 57 locations will be rolled out at the end of August in Bay stores and next spring it will likely be rolled out to all the remaining Bay stores in Canada.

“The Hudson’s Bay locations that we’re rolling out this fall will cover the top 57 stores from coast to coast right from the flagships in Toronto, Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver down to mid-size and smaller stores,” he said. The Bay has 88 stores in the country. The brand will also be available on thebay.com.

Yeah, I find it surprising that they are expanding when J. Crew is retreating/going under.

JJ Bean Coffee isn't allowed to sell apparel because of the similarity in names with LL Bean

I used to prefer Lands End, I was sad when they stopped selling their stuff inside Sears, as it was easier than getting it online or through the catalogue. Well back into the early 90's I used to get the LL Bean catalogue. I ordered once or twice but got the catalogue in the mail for years after that.

People commenting on this story of them coming to Canada on Facebook are whining , either didn't they learn from Target? or Shop Canadian say no to US retailers. OR others who are like they are too expensive, they should be cheaper than they are

There was a rezoning sign outside Aberdeen mall in Richmond, it says they want to change something that allows Second Hand retail in the mall. I wonder what they are planning? Anyone heard anything?

I don't really get why people whine about things like that - if you don't like it then don't shop there / buy their products.

Personally I've fallen in love with Keen hiking / athletic shoes. Sure I wish they were cheaper but honestly they provide a lot of support and comfort because they're seriously overbuilt. Plus about half of them have removable insoles so I can fit my orthotics in them no problem. At the moment I'm waiting for new stock to come in so I can pick up another pair (I average about one pair a year).

Am I going to flip out because they're an American company and sell their shoes for more than a dollar store would ... uhm does that even require an answer?

I've been to their webstore... I don't travel so I'm stuck going to local stores (and if there's a local Keen store - someone please share it's location with me!).
