Here it comes.

In my backyard so far:

The house is starting to creak. Every faucet is running a little stronger than usual

wow quite the warm up. Was on a project site today and had to go on the roof. Didn't have my jacket. Snow is melting on the roads as well.

-1C with a wind chill of -7C and a mix of sun and clouds. It actually got colder as the day progressed. Peaked at 0C at 10AM.

Last night was -1C (wind chill of -7) as well.

The warmspot was Sheringham Point, BC at 10.4C.

Warmest low was Discovery Island, BC at 8.0C.

Light rain most of the day and evening, only amounted to about 7mm. It's currently 2.9 and foggy

Brutal. The igloo coat that makes me look like a middle-aged woman is not enough.

Minus 16 plus windchill.

At least it's short-lived, for now.

Off-topic question: Can you tell me about your security cam setup? The image quality seems quite good. I'm wanting to set up something like that at home.

Yeah, sure. I went with a Wyze cam, it has one long electric cord you plug into the nearest outlet. Also bought the sticky black window mount. So it's stuck to my living room window, and connects via wifi. Controlled with an app.

TWN and EC have wildly different takes on Calgary's warm up next week.

Thanks! I'll check it out.

Sorry for the derail... back to the weather.

Shearwater dropped from +3°C yesterday afternoon to -12°C overnight. It's up to -7°C and dry at the moment. Even in the sunny +3 yesterday, the wind was still quite cold and raw feeling, so it felt much colder than the given temperature. I made the mistake of not wearing gloves outside as I thought it would feel warmer than it did, so my hands froze... Should have just brought the gloves anyhow, but...

The ground is still bare in the Halifax area and the weather over the next 4 or 5 days is calling for some mix of rain and/or snow with daytime temps above freezing and nighttime temps fluctuating to mostly below freezing.

Whether we will have snow on the ground after this is unclear.
- EC is calling for 2cm of snow tonight and 2cm tomorrow, with some mix of rain and freezing rain involved. They are calling for periods of snow for Friday, "snow or rain" for Friday night, and periods of rain for Saturday (no amounts given).
- TWN is calling for 1-3cm Thursday, 5-10cm Friday, <1cm Saturday, and 1-3cm Sunday, with no rain amounts forecasted...

Not a nice a day, foggy and raining, snow melting everywhere. The low was 1.3. It's currently 3.7, and expected to rise a bit overnight. Fog advisory is in effect.

First full day in Taipei after a loooooong trip (24 hours door to door). Very cold (for Taipei) with a high of 12c, and a low of 8c.
Northern Taiwanese people can deal with cooler temperatures a lot better than their southern counterparts. In the south, people would be wearing parkas and full on ski gear with temps in the low double digits.

Never warmed up like it was forecasted. -8C with a wind chill of -15 and cloudy. Forecast called for -2C I believe.

Low of -10C with a wind chill of -19 this morning.

The warmspot was Sheringham Point, BC at 10.8C.
