Let's see how long this "green wall" lasts considering the Atlanta Botanical Gardens couldn't even keep theirs alive/robust. I suppose the only thing that could look green like that in the summertime would be kudzu. ::shudders::

Correct....you can also see where the future 15th street connection will run from West Peachtree down to Spring Street (where the trees are currently).

Now that I think about it, the corner of 15th and Peachtree also has a hotel proposal too right? You are so right arctk2014, there could be a couple more cranes in this picture before long. I would mention 98 14th Street but I digress..... *sighs*

One Atlantic Center and The Four Seasons are so elegant. Their proportions are restrained and appropriate...as befitting their post-modern design. They are my second and fifth favorite buildings in Atlanta. My favorite being 191 Peachtree.

How nice would it have been if they built another lean tower that we could at least peek around, than this wide wall of a building that will nearly block out the sun?

How will it block out the sun, the skinny side is parallel to the path the sun takes across the sky.

Ashton Woods released renderings for its project around the Mercedes Benz HQ.

This is residential housing around the HQ right, not actual office space? Has the lot for the office been selected yet? I feel like as much excitement as there was, I haven't heard much about this recently.

I was speaking a bit tongue in cheek, but I do not face directly south - we are a bit on an angle so that the sun does rise over the Four Seasons ESE), or so, depending on the time of the year.

I think the beast will roughly sit like this, although I may be too short with it. Due to the topography, I think it may sit as high or higher than the REGIONS building.

Mercedes just announced the location in late February where they intend to built their HQ. I suspect it could take 6+ months for the architects to finalize on a design.

This will be mixed-use. It was designed by Duany-Plater-Zyberk, an extremely competent and renowned urban planning firm. It is an INCREDIBLY good omen that they are involved with this.

Don't even get me started on how stupid a name "The Office Apartments" is. My God ....

Unhappy

Yes, the beast from 20,000 fathoms shown above. From the rendering, it appears to soar over REGIONS.

Thank you. That building is appalling. It's like someone set out to build a shitty copy of One Atlantic minus all the finer detail and then gave up a third of the way into it.

Yes, it was a complete embarrassment to Phillip Johnson.
