So I take it you did not watch these Stanley Cup playoffs, and right to the end. If you had you would have seen reality.

Edmonton Oilers select Quebec League sniper Xavier Bourgault at #22 overall.

They could have drafted goalie Jesper Wallstedt but opted for a trade with Minnesota involving 2 draft picks.

Reality is that, despite Bettman's claims, the NHL is the worst officiated league in professional sports, and too many fans are fine with that. Also, Kucherov's ribs & back think Maroon is the best at protecting stars.

We already have young goaltenders in waiting. What we need is step right in and save the day people. The time to win has to be now and not years down the road. Planning for the future since 1990 doesn’t seem to be panning out. I think a trade of some kind for an outstanding goalie is eminent. The Lightning team is going to be losing players and breaking up this two time winner. Maybe we can pick up Vasy.

Top ranked player in the QMJHL wasn't a bad pick and netted us a 3rd round pick as well. I hate how much vitriol these kids face because self-proclaimed fans wanted the team to draft someone else.

The problem with the Oilers is they have been trying to win today by mortgaging the future for ever it seems with successive GMs feeling they have to succeed now in order to save their jobs. Trading away prospects for very little return, throwing away draft picks like confetti, sign has beens to exorbitant contracts. Now we very little in the way of mature experienced talent to support the two big guns.

Also, for those that didn’t know, cataractes in English are waterfalls as in Shawinigan Falls.

^ yes the salary cap is a bi**h. Katz has enough money to buy a cup but it’s not allowed and soon as the players know their good they demand 6 mil a year or more which makes it very difficult to assemble a winning team inside the cap.

Bear traded to the Canes for 3rd line LW Foegele. Although a business move, it's too bad. Bear was a positive role model in the community but hopefully he experiences less racism there.

Way overpaid......

I guess Larsson's departure leaves Oilers questioning how to proceed on defence.

He is getting paid fair market value. His price went up a million dollars a season in the last 2 weeks.

Plus he has a mean streak and will be a deterrent for anyone bugging McDavid.

That is worth it.

No way.......

Saying he is getting fair market value and then his price went up 1 mill in 2 weeks....makes my point
