Is there any word on what is or will be happening to the "Marlborough Hotel?"
It is over a year since closure.
I recall it being a Police investigation but no news on it since?
It would be ashame if it is not being heated as there exist many stunning features.
Just under 2 years ago I met some people who were involved with negotiations taking over the Night club and possibly more parts (Dining) alongside a full restoration which is much needed & would be a great way to preserve it.
The addition from 1960 would remain hotel rooms & the original sections, former "Fashion Mall" offices to be residential.

I would love to see a project like this mass-timber proposal in Milwaukee built on south Main where the surface lots and Boujee (old Earls) currently is.

...or along Graham or anywhere for that matter.

(i heard there is a developer sniffing around the old Earls site.)

Isn't that boujee? They're still open as far as I know.

Im only in my late 20's but I hope to god that before I kick the bucket that entire line of parking lots between boujee and 243 main get turned into towers. Such prime spots. Who even owns those lots??

Hopefully #1, there's a chance they slip up and get their properties seized, prime for HAF funding then lol

Seizing property from criminals and repurposing it does not happen quickly.

Unrelated…is anything happening at the Boyd Building these days?

Ya the first one. If the money's there, it'll get developed. If not, it won't.

The Boyd Building should start up renovations again shortly.

I think the same people that own the SkyCity lot. At least part of that land along Main St is owned by the same people (boujee is). Well known locals.

^The Boyd building project cannot happen soon enough. It's been looking really rough for a long time, and it would be a shame if it deteriorated any further. Plus, it may breathe a bit of life into a pretty forlorn stretch of Portage.
Is there a plan to do anything with the lot next door, where they tore down the attached smaller building?
