The First time

I think tonite is one of the first times i've seen the crown lit up down here.

With a slight east wind a blowning ,it is making the sky clear.

I can see the white lit crown from Fort Gaines(east end of Dauphin Island) which is a easy 40miles away!

Wow....40 miles is some viewing range. I was wondering just how far away you could see the RSA on a clear night. I think this must be one of the first really clear nights since it was lite.

Whew...........that's good to hear. When we first went after the job, we were told that "the crown should be visible for 25 miles. Will your system do this?" We sort of gulped and said.......... "yeah, sure, absolutely, no problemo."

There's now talk about more Happy Lighting in downtown Mobile. I'll share details as soon as I can.

Ohh monty, don't tease us!

Wow, 40 miles. The official tower website said it would be visible from 30.

^ Actually, I just used Google Map Pedometer, and from the RSA Tower to the east end of Dauphin Island, it's 30.82 miles. So the website was pretty dead on. I wasn't trying to prove anybody wrong, I was just interested to see.

Not my intent, musicisright, but I gotta be a bit discreet

But I'll say this: I'm really excited about the potential for this type of cutting edge lighting for public spaces! If I could do nothing but RSA Tower-type jobs, I'd be a happy guy.

No worries, I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. It's still so cool that you can see the lights from there!

True, but it is right about that. Fort Gaines and Morgan are about 30 miles from downtown Mobile.

During his visit to downtown Mobile today, President Bush referenced the RSA Tower, saying Sessions "couldn't wait to show me the new building!"

I like the fact that mobile is growing but I think that we do things way to slow. I fell like with the right people call the shots we could grown much bigger and much faster. I think that in the next 10 years the mobile-baldwin combined statistical area could be over 1 million people and have 6 - 8 more skyscrapers built in the 400 - 700 ft. range. a mall in north abd west mobile, and connect the 2 malls that we have now. I think this city has so much potential. I would also love to see the night life grow and stretch down dauphine street.

No more highrises to look foward to now , since the waterstreet complex is a bust

All we have pointing upward now is that crown geauxing on the Riverview. I hope also the Amsouth building gets a make over.

i like your point about moving to slow! One reason is some of the old timers will not sell there land. And rather sit on a gold mine.....cough...cough ...the big parking lot behind Grand Central and BOO Radlys that a church rents out for pennies.....cough....cough.....

yeah, batuourat 15. I from Citronelle witch is like 20 miles north of mobile and thats how all those old people up there are. It is the or was the oil capital of alabama and I would like to know with all the damn money why don't we have more than what we do! Mobile County just moves to slow. I'm going to school at Troy University now and stuff around this area get built so fast. Mobile needs to step it up. I really hope we do!

I heard Troy has a good spelling/typing program. i went to football camp there.

Just wait a few years....Saraland to Chatom will become one of the fastest growing areas in the state!......(Steel mill and the Dale Jr. Raceway park is atleast 8,000 jobs)

South Mobile County ,which i call Alabama's RedHeaded Step Child, is sinking fast into the gulf .and the only way i think might save this area is casinos. Which won t happen. So be greatfull what is coming your way in the near future. Good things are on its way
