as for stadium attendance, that probably has more to do with who's in the game than the weather that day but ticket sales either way are settled long before game day and are more dependent on who is playing than the weather.
Times change - People don't want to freeze in the stands anymore - they want a comfortable environment. If the CFL is looking to attract fans they need to think of things like that. That comes from a person who spent a lot of time freezing in the stands and is too old to deal with it anymore

Montreal is out of the running to host FIFA World Cup in 2026. Edmonton and Toronto appear to be the only Canadian cities remaining.

Edmonton is solid in its support for the World Cup. No doubt in my mind that FIFA will be naming Edmonton a host city for North America. The only question is how many extra games we will get now that Montreal is out.

Looking at this site, the flag was originally over eastern Canada but is now over Edmonton.

letape by tour de France coming to Canada next year. Location has not been confirmed.
But a guy I occasionally ride with has been promoting the US one and may be involved with the Canadian one as well.

Duncan Keith traded to the Oilers for Caleb Jones and a 3rd round pick, no salary retained.

Here's hoping he can bring some veteran leadership, stability and presence to the room and ice.

I'm optimistically skeptical of this trade.

25 years in BC did not convince me to be a Canucks fan. Who else would I cheer for? Holland could trade McDavid and I'll still blindly cheer for the Oilers.

37 years old - I doubt he has the juice left to be very effective. I just don't get what the Oilers are expecting to achieve.

Sather used to say the team that gets the best player wins the deal. Caleb Jones is borderline NHL while Duncan Keith is established and proven. He will be an asset. We need guys now to win not down the road. I trust Holland. LA definitely won the Gretzky deal, Sather said he hated to do it but Pocklington insisted, he was cash strapped.

One thing I really hated to see is McDavid getting mauled on the ice and no one standing up for him. What an embarrassment. I wish Holland could trade several duds that we have to bring back Big Rig Pat Maroon. He was one guy that protected Connor plus played very well with him. Lucic had balls too. I’m ad avid Oiler fan since the beginning in the old Edmonton gardens but I see a bunch of current players I would enjoy seeing traded. After watching the playoffs and Montreal and seeing what it takes it’s obvious we need more players with heart for the team and work ethic.

Patty didn't prevent a broken collarbone for 97. Lots of past stars have had career ending injuries despite how plentiful goons were. What's been apparent for many years is that the team with the best players will always lose the 'you hurt our stars, we hurt yours' battles. Better officiating and player safety is the only cure.
