I'm not sure what the material is but they were using paint rollers to apply it. When I saw these workers they were applying a second or maybe even third coat. I think this would look a little odd as just one massive white wall.

This is actual garbage. Hurry and get this done so we can move on to GP2 and cover this shit up. Actually though this is going to make me through up.

That's the party wall along the adjacent lot, and will be covered up once whatever iteration of OGP2 goes up at the SE corner of Michigan/Roosevelt. But yeah, it will be a blank wall for probably a good number of years... I don't see OGP2 going up during this development cycle.

Lol, seriously? Party walls exist in cities, get over it. Do you throw up every time you walk by a 100 year old skyscraper with a blank party wall? Does the Manhattan building make your projectile vomit every time you drive down Congress?

Sure it's ugly, but it's ugly for a reason and it won't be visible forever.

While I completely agree with your above point, I really do wish there was something that could be done about that particular party wall. They demolished its southern neighbor when ramming Congress through the long block between Van Buren and Harrison and the city let it sit exposed like that for a century. Congress is much to visible to have a blank wall facing it. Even a massive billboard or advertisement would do, really.

And while we're at it, lets get rid of the BP station across the street as well

It was a hyperbole, obviously I'm not going to through up every time I see a blank wall. I was just expressing how ugly it is and how we should cover it up as soon as possible.

I actually paint murals on the side and would love to rock something on that wall. Check out some of my work:

If that's where you work from, you've got a view that'll just keep getting better with time. Very nice

It's certainly been fun watching these and Vista go up from the 21st floor.
