Campanile looks great too. Much better solution than adding floors on top of the building imo.

Which would make it comparable to the Marriott Marquis or the State of Georgia Building. Please happen.

Midtown Pedestrians counts were release for Q4. Looks like many intersections had large boosts, but some had some declines but may be attributed to construction affecting the intersections like the NW corner of 7th declined, but is likely due to construction wrapping up on the NE corner and so the pedestrian traffic redistributed.

They need to add pedestrian counters to 14th and West Peachtree, with the Whole Foods opened up there it is probably becoming one of the busiest pedestrian intersections in Midtown.

And here is Midtown Alliance's map of 2020 Capital Projects, I am loving all the bike infrastructure, but I think I am even more excited for the addition of signals at so many dangerous for pedestrian intersections.

Agreed the bottom looks great, but they are adding floors to the top as well. The glass part shown in the rendering does not exist today.

This looks great. Hopefully this one actually goes up. This lot is begging for a tower. If they build this and SLS, and Selig builds across Peachtree and behind SLS, these blocks will be as dense as it gets in Midtown.

Nice, build it! Midtown could use a lot more residential. Wish they’d get more condos, too.

"Lazy" Architecture/Design

My main qualm with current development trends - especially notable around Atlanta - is this lazy solution of throwing up murals and screens to shield the sheer monstrosity of parking decks and blank walls (or just for the sake of making a marketing gig).

You shouldn't have to rely on art to cover up bad design.

Every pic you show looks nice in my opinion. Better than just leaving a parking deck bare. Adds variety and color. Parking decks aren’t disappearing nor or solid blank walls as every building will have one somewhere unless it’s a glass box which will still have parking to hide. Respect your opinion but don’t agree at all.

Also, saying especially Atlanta is so tired and trite. Each city in America builds the same way. A city has a couple spectacular buildings but 95% are all twins from city to city. Atlanta has parking podiums because of our soil and bedrock type. Other cities have underground parking because of the different bedrock. It’s just form following function and cost. Even New York has many marquee buildings; but if you walk the streets, 95% are just brick buildings with blank walls that were built 40 years ago.
