Views from my patio

The Capital Grille opened this week.

I got a great night shot of the CCH from the 27th floor of 99 West as well as the crane coming down.

My only complaint about your photos BretUtah is that I want more. Great shots!

Didn't know the ketchup company also dabbled in real estate development

And some said it would take months to find another drill...

I'm sure whatever went wrong, they've fixed it. But still, I'd probably pick up my pace a little bit when I'm going down that block.

So Astra is a month or two ahead of Convexity. It's also larger, so who's bettin' on who to top out first?
I like these topping out races. Last cool one for me was Salesforce vs. 181 in S.F.
Also, I like the buildings that come out of nowhere, and breeze through the bureaucracy like Convexity.

Can't wait to see Convexity, Astra, West Quarter Phase II getting off the ground, and Domain, and who knows what else all going up at the same time!

Has anyone noticed progress on the Citizen Apartments lately?

Downtown East Update - The Citizen Apartments

Luke Garrott Reports - Office-to-residential transition in Central City near the 400 S TRAX line - Full Article @
https://www.buildingsaltlake.com/off...0-s-trax-line/

In Central City, just southeast of Downtown, 1970s-vintage low-rise office buildings are transitioning to multi-family residential in a big way.

Three projects along 400 East – one under construction and the other looking for a zoning change – add to a number of developments that are integrating an architecturally-forgettable office ghetto into the increasingly-lively transit corridor of 400 South just a block to the north.

The Citizen's amenities support an urban lifestyle featuring a large central courtyard, pool, hot tub, roof top deck, yoga studio, fitness center, pet wash, bike storage, high tech co-working space, fire pits, smart home technology, and more.

The Citizen’s amenities include a large 3-floor courtyard with a pool and spa. A secondary courtyard shows custom fire pits and BBQ areas for tenants.
The building’s top (6th) floor features a fitness center and clubhouse connected to a 3,400 sf rooftop deck.

At 515 South 400 East, The Citizen will bring 264 new apartment dwellings to the neighborhood.

The 6-story building fronts 500 South, 400 East, and Denver St., and is designed by Architecture Belgique and landscape architects LOFTSIXFOUR.

•284 parking stalls (two stories above ground)

•264 dwellings

•14 two-story townhomes fronting 500 S and 400 E

•56 studios

•152 1-bd

•42 2-bd

The Citizen - 7 floors & 264 units - demolition has been completed of the office buildings and digging is taking place.

Sundial and 465 Main too!

Hopefully we also see movement on The Cascade, APS, and Regent Street at some point.

I don't think we'll see much of Regent Street until Astra is complete since they are using it as a work area.

I really wonder if the powers that be are taking this issue seriously enough. It sure does not seem like it. If this is not resolved, we'll have a number of negative consequences.

"Solving the Puzzle of East-West Connections" Study

You fellas like taking quick surveys?

https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/b...233f50f0804984

Quote:
Salt Lake City is applying for a federal grant for a 3-year comprehensive planning, engineering, and environmental study of east-west connections across I-15 and railroad tracks, particularly for people walking, bicycling, or taking transit. The project will identify specific ways to improve these crossings for safety, comfort, and travel time reliability. After the study, we will seek construction funds for the recommended designs.

We would like your support as we apply for this grant. Your response below may be included in our grant application.

All questions are optional. There will be additional opportunities for public input if the study is funded!

Not an incredibly serious question, but I just want to guage the interest of everyone here in the possibility of a new website? I have some experience in web building and software, and it'd be a fun pet project to build a new site for us! I don't have a whole lot to contribute here usually which is why I mainly lurk, but with the end of school and summer coming I might have some time to touch up on my web design skills and get us a new home in the process. Lemme know what y'all think! I have some pretty good ideas (I think lol) if you'd like to hear them I'd love to post them, and I'd love to hear your ideas too!
