I drove past on Tuesday and it looked like the old Cactus Club (on Kingsway) was still operating even though the new one is open.

Oh, the new Cactus Club is now open? Sweet. I need to check it out.

I tried out the new Earls sometime ago and it is nice, but how is it that even brand new restaurants can be so noisy inside? Does no sound insulation go into building a restaurant like this? It is shame, as I hate shouting to people in my party just to be heard.

I haven't been in the new Earls yet but I agree a lot of new restaurants dont pay enough attention to acoustics. Trattoria is a good example.

Nice, indeed.

And just think; when that phase started, Metroplace was pretty much all on it's own in the background of that shot on Bereseford ave. (with Moda slightly hidden to the left and Silver to the right, off-frame), but when Tower 5 of Station Square is complete, Metroplace itself will be flanked by a completed Sun Tower 1 and possibly a partially done Highline tower on the other side on lot over.

Not much progress if you are an urban enthusiast. If you like mindless towers, then sure Metrotown's great. There will be even taller towers in the years to come, but Metrotown is one of the last places I would go to shop or for a night out.

The write-up for the story says Tower 3 is 57 storeys - and Tower 5 is 52 storeys.
Is that correct?

That doesn't sound right.

Tower 5 is supposed to be the tallest of the lot, and if I remember correctly it's supposed to be even taller than Metroplace once complete.

Sounds like someone might have made a typo or something.
