Predates the clock tower by several decades so it at least has the excuse of society not knowing better at the time. Inside this building is just bizarre. The first 3 floors are a mix of odd retail (think Asian convenience store and bad hair salon), the city's biggest x-ray / MRI clinic outside any hospitals and a mix of accountants still using type writers, lawyers and various doctor's offices. The hallways go on forever and are unusually narrow and winding. A couple years ago there was a power surge that fried all the electronics in the building. I am going to come out and say it: Laval's clock tower condo is the ugliest in the realm.

If it weren't for that cursed clock tower it actually would be quite bland and easy to ignore. A contemporary version of Mayfair Place. The tower just propels it to that next level though.

To me this is more comparable to Sauron's clocktower in Laval. Vantage Pointe.

Toronto used to have one on Front Street:

It was later used as a parking garage for Avis car rental:

Yes, the Toronto one also had paintings, as well as live actors. The days of cycloramas were pretty well numbered, however, with the advent of motion pictures. The building itself wasn't demolished until the 1970s, I think.

Those 360 degree educational movies that were popular in the 1960s and 1970s were sort of a resurrection of cycloramas.

In Toronto, there used to be one at Ontario Place. I'm sure that other Canadian cities had them too.

Had a meeting at this lovely building today. Not sure what's worse, the faded poo coloured wood siding or the 'Institutional Food' sign.
