If not, where's Deco's!? haha
Dont know of any deli across from Honest Lawyer, that bar has the back end of dollarama across from it to the north, and Tan Jay across from it to the east.

Deco's is in the side aisle that leads to Pharma Plus, around the corner from Tim Horton's. The same aisle with Coles book store and the tea shop. It's where the churro place was.

Was referring to the soup/sandwich shop between the variety store and eye glasses place.

I know where Deco's in now, thank you for the clarification. I'll have to check it out!

NOTE: on the subject of sandwiches, I have to plug Bonanza Bakery real quick. Best/cheapest sandwiches in the City! $2.50 (tax 'incl.') for a NFL-sized sandwich filled w/ the freshest of deli meats! Murray St bet Catherine & Mary!

I can only dream about getting a lunch with less than a five dollar bill up here in Ottawa. I used to go to Duarte's on Barton St. Do they still have sandwiches for $2 even?

I used to frequent Duarte's all the time in HS, sadly I'm not around the corner anymore.
The bakery/grocery store is still there, and I'm assuming the prices haven't gone up all that much.. but can't confirm.

Also Flar, you'll never find food as great as Hamilton's! Montreal may come in a close second, but Hamilton's where it's at for food! Even my TO friends tell me this!

Jackson Square

I noticed that Jackson Square has added a new "Mall Entrance" sign at the York Blvd entrance just west of the redeveloped Library and Farmer's Market.

They obviously failed to put any thought into coming up with a nice design or font...

Meh. I think its okay. It is good to see SOMETHING going into the actual mall. Although I don't believe this for any other place on earth - any construction is good construction in Hamilton!

I took a quick picture of the sign today. I can't find any info online about it, other than Arthur Realty Ltd is apparently a large house on Scenic Drive.

I tried to sneak a peek inside Smokes's Poutinerie in Hess Village while they worked on the kitchen.

Hell yea Bonanza! That place is the best "bang for your buck" sandwich joint in town. I probably go there twice a week; I could not make those sandwiches myself for any cheaper... great place and great food.

Good call... definitely one of Hamilton's little secrets.

My friends own that place and we've been talking about extending that patio out since the day the bought it 2 years ago.

The same fellas that did that fence built the deck in my back yard.

LMAO!!! I believe it means "nicnacs and trinkets".

Back in the day (late 90's, easly 2000's), Locke St had a couple of these stores, replaced w/in the last 2 years or so with Yuppy shops. Most recently, Discount Emporium closed and turned into a Beauty Supplies outlet.

That said, I can (sadly) see this happening to JamesNorth. It's only a matter of time Starbucks sees The Mulberry's success and forces itself onto the street. Rumour of one at 118 JamesNorth were false, however.
