Was 2-units combined into one huge condo prior to him buying it. Would love to see that view today after all of the growth that Midtown has experienced since the last time I visited him there.
That is the one. The remodel was spot on. The view...dreamy!

I wonder how the architects got away with not making the design mimic One Atlantic Center.

I think you're thinking about a different project. They were discussing 22 Fourteenth Street by the Related Group - Its on the southwest corner of 14th Street and West Peachtree Street - the initial rendering looks nothing like One Atlantic Center:

As for the design that "mimic"'s One Atlantic Center, that is Novare Group's Atlantic House on the southeast corner of 14th and W. Peachtree. I believe someone posted when that design was released that it must include the design elements of Atlantic Center because the lot was originally part of the Atlantic Center development and there is a restrictive covenant or some other requirement that what is built there include the same design scheme. For reference he're the rendering:

I know many of you already know this but a great resource for all of this information on where different proposals are located and images of the latest renderings are located here: http://devmap.io/cities/atlanta/developments I have no affiliation with this site, just plugging a helpful source.

In other news, what is the deal with the Loew's and PWC building inability to secure retail tenants that face to Juniper? All those retail locations have sat empty since the tower has gone up; There is plenty of traffic there from people going to Einstein's and Joe's.

Spaces 3,4,5,6, and 7

GuestHouse - A New Concept Coming to Atlanta (Stayed Tuned for Further Details)

THE PLAN.

We will build the first Guesthouse location in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia, with plans to expand to other cities across the country (Dallas, Austin, NYC, Chicago, Nashville, Tampa). Guesthouse is a truly integrated concept channeling all aspects of a young person’s social and professional life into a single, meaningful and entertaining location.

We have spent the past 15 months working on the development of our concept, performing customer research, integrating ourselves within the Atlanta community through meeting with government officials, community leaders and our future members.

Cool renderings. Looks like they're going for a Soho House for Second Tier cities. Pretty smart actually.

Wow, that looks like something that would be built in Seattle or SF or Vancouver. Looks very interesting...can't wait to hear more news about it.

Unless you consider NYC and Chicago 2nd tier cities.

That condo is incredible! But, I was mistaken. The condo that used to belong to my Dad's friend is on the 43rd Floor..that floor was where the building steps in, and the mid-floor balconies below his unit were all curved jutting out from the building (whereas his balconies were flat, so it was always easy to pick out his unit from the street. The one on 47 is far nicer, more grand, than his..but, still, his was beautiful!

Part of it is the lack of street parking. Like it or not, it's important. Fortunately, I believe that the narrowing of Juniper Street will add parking to that block. That should help. It's also a crappy site for true retail.

Guesthouse

Looking sharp! Hope it's built downtown, but suspect it will be in Midtown.

I wonder if this is the concept that's going up at a site I can't disclosed along the Eastside BeltLine in O4W.

Not without wavers for FAR its more likely to be midtown on juniper somewhere. That said it would be great in the OFW near ponce and Masquerade.

Maybe 7th and Juniper is a candidate? That box bounded by 7th, 8th, Peachtree and Juniper is one of the ugliest lots in Midtown. I'm hoping that this area fills in here soon even though there are no proposals

I could totally see that! Buckhead Village could support it and the FAR looks right for the density that it proposes.

Well call me Summer's Eve because I think it is a creative idea most other cities have.

The location is advertised as being between Midtown and Buckhead. Therefore, I suspect it will be in the Buckhead Atlanta area.

Not necessarily. This could easily be built in MRC-3, of which were are several zoned tracts in the area - believe me, I know

I could see it in either location.

Is the whole thing restaurants, clubs, etc.? Or are they just on the lower floors, with residences above?
