Wow. Does a year from now seem realistic for completion of this project? I would have thought office tenants would be moving in this spring, so retail and commercial spaces would need to be ready in lockstep with their arrival. But a year from now? Why the delay?

The building work by Quadreal looks to be winding up. They then hand over to the tenants for fit-out, although Amazon may already have started on the south tower. There's no obvious tenant work on the retail units yet, and the Food Hall signage has always said Fall 2023, so presumably a six month fit-out, if there are no delays.

A newly signed tenant who has to design their space, get the necessary permits, and then have the work completed could easily take a year from now. (Especially so if they're new into the market, and don't have an existing team of trades to call upon). A more modest project that didn't involve installing a kitchen, and presumably a liquor licence, might be a bit quicker.

A friend of mine works for an office furniture company that designs workstations, etc. and he said they are busy on
the fit-out of the Amazon offices at The Post. He said they were working on both towers.

Just saw this now. Yeah I guess they have access to the parkade space now so construction activity inside wouldn't be that noticeable.

Contractors are often required to sign NDA, and something like this can get your friend and his/her company in a huge trouble.

I work for a developer and posting a rumour online is a big no-no, especially for tenant improvements.
People can talk to family or friends, but it's not the same when people start posting something online for the world to see.

Many companies are secretive about office relocation or expansion, and even their employees are often only disclosed of the layouts and seat locations just before moving in.

Quadreal don't seem concerned. Amazon is the only office tenant.

I don't think it was ever a secret. CES Engineering are working for both Quadreal and Amazon on designing the fit-out.

No doubt one should be careful when posting online, there are lots of juicy tidbits floating around that many of us don't post here because it would be risky or inappropriate, but in this instance I think the level of concern is very low. Amazon is known to be taking the entirety of the space and it is also known that the space is now enclosed so tenant fit out would be occurring. Confirming that is in fact the case is not a big deal at all.
