The Sherbrooke City Council just passed an emergency resolution to secede from Québec and to join Illinois before the next election.
I'm pretty sure none of you bought the secession thing, but the real explanation for the presence of these flags on the city hall is quite interesting.
The truth is that Sherbrooke is currently hosting a big american movie production. Filming is taking place in this secondary school as well as on Wellington street. Several additional flags should replace canadian and quebecian flags that normally fly on this street.

It might be similar someplaces to Québec city's , hence with something more ''Grand'' recalling that it's a metropolis.
