A Warhammer retail store is coming to Saint John. Their Facebook page lists the address as 20 Plaza Avenue, which is Fairville Blvd Plaza on the west side. It's also down the street from Gamezilla, (which is a retailer partner of Warhammer/Games Workshop).

Seriously though "The Quark Group is now one of the largest privately owned shoe chains in Western Canada." nice to see them expanding especially as a Canadian owned retailer. Good luck to them!

The container village is now open.
I wondered through it this morning after watching the Oasis of the Seas dock. It looks a lot better than I was expecting. I think it will be great for the summer! Pretty much every container was opening up too.

There's online chatter that Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is coming to Saint John, (in addition to Moncton and Fredericton).
Rumors indicate that it will be located at the former 3mile property.

I’d say there is a 100% chance Popeyes comes to Saint John given that they are already confirmed for Fredericton and Moncton. Question is where does it go? No doubt in the east side shopping district but the 3 mile seems a little less high profile than you’d think Popeyes would want.

Popeyes could open in the middle of a bog and there would still be a 3 km long line-up for the drive-thru.

Perhaps the 3 mile would be a strategic location to avoid a Bi-High scenario.

That is interesting because I heard tonight that the 3 Mile was being torn down.

The more I think of it, this might make sense. Because if I recall didn't the Wilsons company, (that owns the Esso/Go! Store, next to it), bought the property? I believe they are also the franchisee that has the rights for Popeyes here in Atlantic Canada. So it would kinda make sense that they purchase property, demolish it, and build a Popeyes on the property.

Someone bought the property last June. Not sure who it was, could be the Wilson. I drove by the esso the other night and noticed some construction pylons between the esso and the 3 mile. It was a quick glance so not sure what they were there for but… ya never know.

It should be, the building was condemnable last I heard, or at least I know it has flooded a number of times over the decades (it’s nearly built on top of Marsh Creek) so it probably has rot or water damage. I would expect the old building to be torn down and then any new development would be closer to Golden Grove Road and further from the creek.

Walmart on the west side is undergoing renovations. New paint, new signage, new flooring, and more.

The Walmart Supercenter on the east side has moved some things around. For example, they removed the furniture section and expanded the pantry section, (that’s across from it), into that spot. Looks like they are doing some reconfiguring of the departments. They must be doing some improvements to the east side store as well.
