That is about par for the course on NY1 reporting.

In other news, the East side facade of the Pavillion is almost complete, after which I imagine the teams will be working on the roof facade, and then after the roof is complete the white/blue protective wrap will be removed. If we're lucky the roof will be done by the end of the first week of June. If we are unlucky, then I think the protective wrap wont be removed until the base of the structure is complete as well as the top, and the base will most likely take longer since the decking hasnt finished next to the entirety of the base as of yet.

I mean come on, the memorial is HUGE!
There's a thing called a "porto-potty"???

Is it that hard to place several of them on the plaza?

Talking Oh my...

Although, my last post was intended to be a joke, that porto-potty thing was the last thing I was going to think off. I guess 'cause its too unhygienic for me.

It’s a little unreasonable that after all this they cannot provide those accommodations for visitors.

No that response was directed to the article, not you. Sorry about that.

I agree with Dac150, after all this work to build such a large memorial, they can't even put restrooms, or even porto-potties.

I was thinking that they should build a temporary building that houses restrooms, and remove it once the pavillion opens. Sounds logical, right?

A temporary building is probs the best idea, the just need to set it up and blend it in. Maybe put it next to, and make it look like one of the ventilation structures?

In the memorial renders it shows a clearing among the trees with a grass lawn. Are they still planning to go with this?

From the pictures it seems like they left an section free from trees and much of the pavement is still left undone.

North Pool?

Anyone know what's going on with the North Pool?

First those strange extra pavers appeared last November....

Then they removed the pavers around the inner perimeter of the pool...

Now they're removing most of the pavers already set.

What's going on..Leaks???

Looks to me like they are painting them not removing them. Maybe some type of protective cover.

I think you're right..

But I still can't figure out what those extra pavers I've depicted with blue dots are for...

They've been there about 7 months and now they're painting around them.

It's been a long time since i've posted to this forum - but have been following this for years. I'm truly amazed with the progress. However, I wonder what the general thought would be if the architects somehow incorporated the "beams of light" into this. I remember the news reporting the beams were 50'x50'. That would possibly fit into the center of the pools where the water dips down further. They could be lit every 9/11, or July 4th to save money and keep the plaza appearance from being 'overcrowded'. Just a thought - what do you all think?

I think they're going to have problems with nutjobs jumping into the pools.

I mentioned it before, the lights already have a home above the BK-Battery Tunnel Garage, just imagine how difficult it would be to get lights into the pool, you'd probably have to rent a crane to get them in there.

You know, that idea of relocating the lights isn't a bad idea. Sure, you can rent a crane and install them in the smaller square of the pool, but the costs is nothing compared to the entire memorial cost itself.

This way, its more symbolic and accurate. Why accurate? Because that's where the Twin Towers originally stood, NOT on the BK-Battery Tunnel Garage.

Look at Earthcam today... your question has been answered. They go around the center waterfall. Two sides have been installed.

Edit: Here is a photo from earlier today:
