When have you ever seen a street closed for that?
both of the midtown skyhouses at various points in construction closed off streets when they didn't they took a lane. What im saying is if all three projects are being built at the same time there will be congestion not that i mind itl be fun flying passed people on my bike.

Is there any new information circulating about Regents Partners' Tower Place buildings in Buckhead? It seems like it's been following the pattern of 98 14th street in making a loud entrance and then going quiet for several subsequent months.

Has winter ever done high rise construction? There is at least a few million in interest that has been racked up due to delays in this project. Hard to believe there is still much left in it.

Which is further along, Alta at the Park or Azure on the Park? Personally, I'd like to see Azure on the Park happen first. That hole on 10th Street is terrible.

Azure. Residents along 11th have been asked to vacate by end of March, per a friend of mine who lives in 1045 Park.

Excuse my ignorance, but is something going there?? It now has big trees there. It has been long enough, blame it on Blue Med Spa.

Dirt moving on Modera site

I drove by the Modera site this morning and there was a lot of work going on. Has this project broken ground?

That's awesome! I would love to see Alta at the Park, Azure on the Park and Yoo on the Park all break ground this year. It would really transform that section of midtown.

HOLY S....ugar!!! Now that what I am talking about. It is a shame this project is not in a more visible location.

The amount of development in Midtown is nothing less than EPIC. I know NYC, Dallas, Houston, Austin and Miami have a tremendous amount of develop occuring in their respective cites. Does anyone know or can speculate whether any of those cities have the concentration of development that Midtown does?

Very exciting times.

2015 is setting up to be a pretty transformative year for Midtown, probably it's biggest year yet. I really do feel like Midtown starting to hit that "critical mass" where it actually feels like a very dense area of the city.

Atlanta3000, I can't speak for those other cities but what's happening in Midtown Atlanta is roughly equal to what's happening in just downtown Long Island City, Queens, so New York City-wide there's no comparison.

I was in downtown Dallas for the holidays: they have a bunch of projects going but it seems like it's mostly in 2 block wide nodes each separated by a few blocks of surface lots and older one-story buildings. Not much walking from one to the other -- I think midtown might have them beat

I got lost really good the first day, so we got to explore a lot Mockingbird at US-75 is exploding big time and they do have a DART station there. The new Ross Perot science museum is hilarious, but most everything else looked pretty nice. Deep Ellum still hasn't recovered and Lower Greenville seemed to be kind of hopping but stuff is still pretty far away from each other except the one node around the Trader Joes -- found some decent beer bars there

I go to Miami pretty regularly. What's going on down there is nothing short of impressive. The whole area east of I95 from Brickell north to Midtown is dotted with cranes. And we're talking 40-70 stories. One Miami forumer states there are 14 towers 500'+ under construction.

Atlanta's just a few years behind everyone else. What's happening in Atlanta is impressive, though. It's more "transformational".

Houston in particular is just on a whole different level in terms of sheer volume of units/construction/infill, and they are adding office.

Austin is explosive for such a small city - literally on fire. Adding more in their CBD and more infill than Atlanta and yet it's a much smaller market.

Miami - just seriously, it's insane. Incomprehensible what's going up down there. However, I have more faith in Atlanta's Midtown becoming a vibrant mixed-use cosmopolitan neighborhood (complete with universities and world class cultural offerings) than Brickell's/DT Miami's area "feeling" the same way, no matter how many tall high rises go up.

Seattle - just unbelievable what's going on there. All sustainable/economic based, bringing permanent residents and energy. Seattle's already vibrant/on another level, though.

Philly
DC
SF
Chicago
NYC

I mean Atlanta's up there, but definitely not top 10 in terms of development. Consider that at least 3 major cities are currently adding new tallests (all supertalls) and NYC is adding a whole array of supertalls (I think Miami's adding a new tallest, as well, though not a supertall). Chicago has 2 adjacent ~700-750 ft office towers rising, among a ton of others.

This is what happens when you recover from the latest recession and then expand and grow...we are in a nationwide growth cycle and many cities are capitalizing, including Atlanta, though to a lesser degree than others.

If you look at the completed, constructed, and proposed residential #s versus the 2010 census, the increase in density is on the order of 75%. In only ~9 years, this has to be among the fastest percentage growth in the nation for a neighborhood.

The previous census period for "core" Midtown saw ~63% growth, meaning that from 2000 to 2020, Midtown could see 190% growth even with a the largest recession in decades in that timespan.
